Like so many other people out there, we had no idea what an alpaca was. Then, we saw an episode on the Discovery Channel from a show called Dirty Jobs that featured alpacas. They looked and appeared to be low maintenance and seemed to be enjoyable animals. But, after visiting 10 farms and ranches throughout Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma, we discovered there is no price on happiness along with making money along the way.

So, after many arguments about which breed to purchase, we purchased five Huacaya alpacas: One bred female, two yearling females, one fiber male, and our current herdsire. Our whole family loves these animals. They are gentle enough that our girls can mess with them, while still learning the value of a dollar and responsibility.

After attending our first show in Oklahoma and receiving a first and second place standing, we realized we needed more alpacas! So, here we are, now with six females, including our new cria and four males. Take a moment and glance through our website to see how much our family enjoys these wonderful animals.
